Prospect magazine

 In another joint project with Sandbox Studios for Elmhurst College, we were asked to engineer a template driven, electronic version of Prospect, the EC campus magazine. We were given the challenge of designing a site that could be easily maintained and expanded by Elmhurst's in-house production staff.

We began by laying out the basic navigational elements and experimenting with ways to build the complex layout without compromising the site's HTML 3.2 compliance, as backwards compatibility was one of the major goals for the EC parent site.
Once we had stabilized the behaviors of the various site elements, we created a system of templates which would allow the EC production staff to quickly clone whole sections of the site when it was time to create another issue.
The magazine site also contains what the college hopes will become an extensive archive of lead articles from past editions.
